The Mother’s Heart – TPW Podcast

This podcast is presented in honor of all mothers everywhere, of every race, nation and religion. Motherhood is a universal experience. What unites women into a sisterhood? Beyond politics, beyond #metoo, there is the experience of conceiving, bringing to term, birthing and nursing a new person in the image of God. The glory of God beyond stars and galaxies, beyond mountains and oceans, is revealed by the birth of one person through another person’s physical body, and that other person is your mother. And so Islam teaches, “A man came to the Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet (PBUH) said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your father.”
